Dotted Mint

Monarda punctata

Sunlight: Full sun

Moisture: Dry -average

Soil: Sandy - loam

Height: 1-3’

Blooms: July-Sept

While all monardas are showy, dotted mint with its stacked multicolored flowers of cream, yellow, purple, and maroon might take the cake for most ornate. It is a shortlived perennial (1-3year lifespan) that is worth incorporating for its stunning looks, and manageable size and habit. Also, one can’t miss that it attracts many large pollinators. Does best in a well drained soil in full sun.
